How To Get 1 Million Views on HubPages
1 Million Views Milestone here on HubPages
As you can see in the screenshot above, I recently got a new accolade (those icons or medals on the right sidebar of the HubPages profile) and it's the 1 million views accolade. I haven't even been writing recently and after two years of being a member of HubPages, it's really quite a milestone to reach views as many as these. And imagine, I've only written 158 articles here. What more if I wrote more, right?
This doesn't even include the impressions or page views that I get on my other personal blogs that I have on Blogger. Along with Google AdSense, I get a humble amount of earnings from these articles that I've written. So aside from having fun with what I do (most of the time writing about the most random of things), I also get a chance to make a bit of passive income.
I've recently taken up classes on digital marketing and it's really a perfect opportunity to rekindle my project on Beating the Search Engine (if you go to the link, you'll see that it is a project that actually began or was inspired by my love for a local pork dish called lechon) as search engine optimization played a big role in allowing me to achieve this milestone only this time, my approach and methods will have even more credibility as I gain formalized education from leading practitioners in the industry on SEO, social media, and digital marketing as a whole.
Search Engine Optimization
I've always said that there really is no rule of thumb in SEO and quality will always rise above all these attempts at trying to quantify how algorithms calculate quality, in the strictest definition of the word (as quality is something that is perceived or a byproduct of observation and preferences). It is much like the subjective theory of value that states no man or computer could ever quantify the preferences, desires, and actions of individuals. All these rules we think we have now may change tomorrow or the day after that.
I actually have a classmate who is taking the same course again because trends change so fast that what you learn can already be obsolete the moment you leave the classroom. This is a bit exaggerated, of course, as SEO remains to be a very lucrative industry and there are practices that have always been effective (many of which I am still about to learn).
And so as I learn more, it would be a perfect opportunity to apply the things I learn here on HubPages and in my own personal blogs as well to significantly increase my traffic, my earnings, and my online influence. 1 million views is only the beginning. In fact, it is a dwarf compared to many bloggers out there who don't even care about SEO (their search engine presence is achieved naturally or organically through improvement of quality).
As Google invests more and more in making their algorithms more sophisticated, as much as it sounds like a hipster thing to say, natural and organic is the way to go. Optimization is almost entirely a speculative endeavor.
My HubPages Future
It's quite timely that I got this 1 million views accolade right when I start my classes regarding digital marketing. Make sure to follow me here or on my social media pages (found on my HubPages profile) as I will surely be posting more tips and tricks as I learn more about it from my course and at the same time as I immerse myself once again to challenges and objectives.
I understand they've become very strict nowadays not just with Google AdSense applications, but also here in HubPages. So much has changed since I last wrote and I just recently discovered that more than half of my articles or hubs are not even eligible to be displayed on search engines because of the many new regulations that HubPages have put in place. It's obvious that they also know the importance of quality of posts regardless of its optimization and social media klout. They even have this whole 24 hours quality assessment process before they start placing ads or enable your article to be crawled by the search engines.
I do recommend that it's better to begin early and start writing. I mean, my earnings may be not very big but it's been quite helpful as it is passive income. I don't even have to think about it. I didn't even expect that I would actually be getting 1 millions views already and it really just happened. Writing more and learning more will surely improve this and push my earnings even higher. I actually just check my AdSense account from time to time and then pick up the money from Western Union once it's ready. And all I had to do was write a bunch of words and express myself. It's that easy. The fact that you're reading this right now means I already earned even more.
My mind is really so full of ideas and I feel so inspired and creative. It's time to revamp the whole concept of Beating the Search Engine, from its design to the very roots of its objectives. Thanks for dropping by.
